Everybody Welcome!

It was the prophet Joel who first announced the extraordinary inclusiveness of God’s salvation plan. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."(Joel 2:32)  So important was this message that it was repeated by both Peter (Acts 2:21) and Paul (Romans 10:13).

As I looked around the church hall at the end of last week’s Holiday Club and saw children from so many different backgrounds, team members young and old, parents and carers from every walk of life, I realised afresh what a powerful this message is. Please pray with me over the coming weeks that some of those families who joined us last Sunday for our Holiday Club celebration will have recognised God’s invitation, met with the Holy Spirit and be drawn to the irresistible love and grace of Jesus Christ.

With love in Christ,
Pads

PS. We’d love to see you on Friday night if you’re up for a bit of fellowship and fun at the Games Evening at 7.30pm. And naturally, everybody’s welcome!

Coming up...

Join the rest of the church family for a great evening out, playing a variety of board games. If you want to bring your own game, come at 7.15pm to set it up. Games will start at 7.30pm. If you have any questions, get in touch with the office or with Martin Booker.
The lovely ladies at Time for You (Friday mornings in the hall), would like to invite everyone to their Christmas Fayre on Friday 23rd November.

There will be several stalls with loads of goodies to start doing some Christmas shopping, and plenty of fresh coffee and home-made cakes.

Children welcome, so put the date in your diary and plan to come along!
Christmas is around the corner, which means a lot of activity at St Matthew's, reaching to the community and celebrating this special time. Would you bake a cake for us, or perhaps make some mince pies? Most cakes keep well in the freezer, so feel free to drop your contribution anytime between now and the 25th.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone!!

Operation Christmas Child

A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ name through the power of a simple gift.

Operation Christmas Child 2018 is now underway at St Matthew's!  You'll find boxes in the Church - just drop them back here once filled. Chloe and Nat Baker will collect them for us.
