One thing that we truly value at St Matthew's is Community.
Whether this is your first contact with us or St Matthew's has been your church for a while already, the best way to get connected with our family and start meeting others is through groups. These are much more than a chat or a quick handshake. Small groups are a place where you can develop real and lasting friendships that go beyond the Sunday morning.
Small groups are exactly that, a smallish (6–12) group of people from church, or those who want to know more about Christianity, who meet in church members' homes weekly to share food, pray, discuss the bible and develop great friendships.
We have a number of small groups located in and around the area. All you have to do to join is talk to us. We can put you in touch with the small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group. Go along and try it out!
*Covid Update* November 2020
It is really important that as a church family we 'love one another' by ensuring that no-one is left alone or isolated by the lock down.
Home groups will play a key part in that by offering Zoom home group meetings where that makes sense or simply calling one another just as many of you are doing already amongst friends. If you are not currently in a group and would like to be part of one - albeit on Zoom - please let either myself, Lynn or Isabel know over the coming days and we'll get you connected.
Many of us are keen to find ways to serve our local community in some way over the coming weeks and possibly months (we ran a volunteer hub during the last lockdown) and so we are exploring new ways we could do that and I hope to communicate further soon.
In the meantime, let's all keep encouraging one another and praying for one another, and for the world
To find a group that's perfect for you, just give us some details.
