What can I expect?
How long is a service?
In total, our church service is about 60 minutes in length. Services begin with the St Matthew's band leading the church in music - song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and / or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After the music portion of service is complete, the children go out to their activities and the vicar or one of our service leaders will come out to share an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus.
What's the culture like at St Matts?
Sundays at St Matthew's are casual and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.
What about my children?
We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week - and at Kidz Church, we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a check-in process every time that you visit. All our volunteers and children helpers have been DBS checked and one of the adults in the group will have first aid training. Kidz Church is offered for kids ages infant through Year 6.
For younger ones, we also have a Crèche just outside the church. You can leave your toddler there or stay with her and listen to the service through the speakers.
Teenagers can join The Gap, where they will enjoy a hot chocolate and toast before starting age-appropriate teaching and discussions.
